We have opened recruiting for Summer Harvest Internship positions. We are looking for two to three energetic, independent individuals with excellent communication skills to help manage harvest on our certified organic blueberry farm during the 2021 harvest season (May-August).

This is a seasonal full time paid position. We are one of the longest-operating certified organic blueberry farms in California and have a well-established customer base and market. Our farm is located in the foothills east of Chico, in Northern California.

Unfortunately, we are unable to hire workers with H2A visas at this time.

Help Wanted! 2020 Harvest Manager Recruitment Has Begun!

We are looking for two to three energetic, independent individuals with excellent communication skills to help manage harvest on our certified organic blueberry farm during the 2020 harvest season (May-August).  This is a seasonal full time paid position.

We require a commitment of 7-8 weeks minimum for the duration of the harvest season, and have limited work available prior to harvest start, as well as post-harvest. This position involves managing the harvest crew, quality control and logistics, driving a 2 ton truck and loading and offloading pallets (forklift and/or pallet jack). Typical work days are 5:30 am to late afternoon, 5-7 days a week for the harvest; weather conditions range from cool mornings to hot afternoons – ability to work outdoors in these conditions is a must. Farm experience and Spanish language skills are helpful. A valid driver’s license is required; no children or pets. Housing may be available.

There may be opportunity to assist or fill in for the owners at one or more farmers markets. We currently sell locally in Chico, and also attend the San Francisco Ferry Plaza, Berkeley, and Marin Civic Center farmers markets each weekend during the season.

We are willing to work with students who require paperwork and follow-up for internships. Many of our former employees have been college students and have used the excellent experience acquired on our farm to move on to rich and fulfilling agricultural jobs.

We are confirmed to start Saturday, June 3 at Chico Downtown, SF Ferry Plaza, Berkeley Center St Farmers Markets, and Sunday at Marin Civic Center in San Rafael. Load up!!

John’s Other Job

Winter Activity: Make Some Blueberry Jam!!!

Happy New Year! Short days, cold and wet out there! This is a good time of year to read books, peruse the garden seed catalogs, and make reservations for fun summer plans. But at some point, you may find yourself yearning for something else to do with your time, and we have the perfect idea! Make some blueberry jam! Cook up a batch, fill some small jars, stash them away for a treat or gift to friends and loved ones. We have a supply of our delicious organic blueberries, frozen in 10 lb boxes. The price is reasonable – $4/lb ($40/box). Call or email us to find out where we can deliver and get jamming!!
