Help Wanted! 2020 Harvest Manager Recruitment Has Begun!

We are looking for two to three energetic, independent individuals with excellent communication skills to help manage harvest on our certified organic blueberry farm during the 2020 harvest season (May-August).  This is a seasonal full time paid position.

We require a commitment of 7-8 weeks minimum for the duration of the harvest season, and have limited work available prior to harvest start, as well as post-harvest. This position involves managing the harvest crew, quality control and logistics, driving a 2 ton truck and loading and offloading pallets (forklift and/or pallet jack). Typical work days are 5:30 am to late afternoon, 5-7 days a week for the harvest; weather conditions range from cool mornings to hot afternoons – ability to work outdoors in these conditions is a must. Farm experience and Spanish language skills are helpful. A valid driver’s license is required; no children or pets. Housing may be available.

There may be opportunity to assist or fill in for the owners at one or more farmers markets. We currently sell locally in Chico, and also attend the San Francisco Ferry Plaza, Berkeley, and Marin Civic Center farmers markets each weekend during the season.

We are willing to work with students who require paperwork and follow-up for internships. Many of our former employees have been college students and have used the excellent experience acquired on our farm to move on to rich and fulfilling agricultural jobs.

2017 harvest is under way, with beautiful cool weather for our first day of picking. The berries look amazing and we can’t wait to get them out to you! We are confirmed to start Saturday, June 3 at Chico Downtown, SF Ferry Plaza, Berkeley Center St Farmers Markets, and Sunday at Marin Civic Center in San Rafael. Load up!!

2016 Harvest begins!

We are excited to begin our 2016 harvest this week! The fruit is amazing, having been treated to a really wet and wonderful winter and spring. If we didn’t know better, we’d think we were in Oregon. Everything is lush and beautifully green, the berries are gorgeous and so, so very tasty. And, more than ever, we love where we live. So fortunate to call this beautiful patch of land our home, and looking forward to sharing our bounty with you all!

Harvest 2013

ripe 2 Harvest 2013 may be over, but we still have work on the farm. Time to clean up, fix the irrigation, mow (instead of spray) the weeds, and enjoy the beauty of this place we live. Thanks so much for all your support and business this season, we simply could not do it without you.

It’s happening!  Earliest pick ever for our farm, we will begin harvest next week.  Good thing, too, cause our farm interns don’t arrive till the weekend – kids gotta get through graduation!  We’re very excited to have 2 returning interns this season (second time this has happened!)  We’ll keep you posted on progress, and when and where you can find our blueberries.  Don’t forget, we’re certified organic (since the beginning 24 years ago)!
