Help Wanted! 2020 Harvest Manager Recruitment Has Begun!

We are looking for two to three energetic, independent individuals with excellent communication skills to help manage harvest on our certified organic blueberry farm during the 2020 harvest season (May-August).  This is a seasonal full time paid position.

We require a commitment of 7-8 weeks minimum for the duration of the harvest season, and have limited work available prior to harvest start, as well as post-harvest. This position involves managing the harvest crew, quality control and logistics, driving a 2 ton truck and loading and offloading pallets (forklift and/or pallet jack). Typical work days are 5:30 am to late afternoon, 5-7 days a week for the harvest; weather conditions range from cool mornings to hot afternoons – ability to work outdoors in these conditions is a must. Farm experience and Spanish language skills are helpful. A valid driver’s license is required; no children or pets. Housing may be available.

There may be opportunity to assist or fill in for the owners at one or more farmers markets. We currently sell locally in Chico, and also attend the San Francisco Ferry Plaza, Berkeley, and Marin Civic Center farmers markets each weekend during the season.

We are willing to work with students who require paperwork and follow-up for internships. Many of our former employees have been college students and have used the excellent experience acquired on our farm to move on to rich and fulfilling agricultural jobs.

Send Cover Letter & Resume to: info@sierracascadeblueberries.com, or mail to: Sierra Cascade Farm, PO Box 613, Forest Ranch, CA 95942.

COVID-19: Farms and farm employees are considered “Essential” during COVID-19 because of the importance of keeping food in the nation’s supply chain. We will operate our harvest activities within the guidelines of COVID-19 precautions in order to protect our workers’ health and yours.
